0.6, and transgender identity after nuclear war.
Just a little update to say that update 0.6 is slowly getting done. I think I've gone past my predicted finish date, but this is because I keep adding new features! Here's an example.
As you'll know if you've played the game, you can divide up your people into different classes based on different traits: religion, genetalia, (and coming soon, education!).
With 0.6, your citizens will be able to alter their traits if they so choose, changing their religion, gender identity, education etc. This might give the player a headache, since your perfectly planned society is getting disrupted by radical free-thinkers, so you can ban these trans-traits to maintain the status quo and force people to keep their current identity.
Naturally, people aren't going to be very happy if you force an identity upon them that they don't agree with, but the benefits of maintaining your current social order may outweigh any discontent.
Mechanics like these are what 0.6 is all about: thanks to the new ability of your citizens to think as individuals, they can all do drastically different things to one another, making your job as leader that much harder. Fashioning a new society after the apocalypse should be as complex and difficult as possible, that's my aim!
